Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount Improves Ergonomics While Protecting Tablet PCs

When using her tablet PC in the kitchen, Michelle Harmon recently found a recipe for success—one that improves her ergonomics while protecting her smart device from harmful spills.

upper desk“I use my tablet in the kitchen all of the time. If I am not watching cooking videos, I am looking up recipes or taking photos of my creations and posting them on Pinterest or Facebook,” says Harmon, a mom of two and avid baker. “In the past, I sat my tablet on the countertop—which left it vulnerable to spills. I also had bend over the counter and strain my back to see my iPad—it was a recipe for disaster.”

Harmon—who is just one of the millions of tablet PC users who are integrating technology into the kitchen—now uses Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount for Smart Devices.

“I just love my Upper Desk,” stated Harmon. “It protects my tablet and improves my ergonomics. It is like a standing desk for my iPad. I am not sure what I ever did without it.”

Suspending any size tablet or smart phone in portrait or landscape mode just below a cabinet or shelf, the mount arrives fully assembled and installs in seconds without tools. As a five star-rated product, it frees up valuable countertop space while allowing users access to cabinet contents. With a rotating arm and three case compatible settings, it optimizes tablet use. Its cushioned lining protects cabinets and does not require permanent drilling or marring of a cabinet or shelf.

Déglon: Meeting and Génération Y Cutlery Collections

DEGLON 1_-_Meeting

Meeting Collection: Set of four stainless steel steak knives on a solid oak base

For Déglon, cutlery must combine technological prowess and beauty. This is particularly the case for the Meeting and Génération Y ranges.

Meeting is a collection designed by a creative design student, Mia Schmallenbach, in association with Déglon, for the fifth edition of the Creative Cutlery Scholarship. The streamlined and pared‐back shape of these knives gives the collection its contemporary edge and perfect ergonomic hold. The collection has four super‐flat knife sets that slot into one another. Choose from the three sets of three or four kitchen knives, or a set of four steak knives.

DEGLON 2_-_Generation_Y

Génération Y Collection: Small kitchen / steak knife and 15cm kitchen knife

The Génération Y collection is born of Déglon’s expertise. Its brand new design resides in particular in its exceptional handle that has neither rivets nor screws. The two sides of the wooden handle are assembled using an exclusive system that guarantees solidity and robustness. For the best possible hold, the handle is in rosewood with a very pleasant touch and warming tone. The bolster has been reworked and has a half‐sphere on each side of the blade, for perfect balance and handling.

Since its creation in 1921 by Jean Déglon, the cutlery manufacturer has been making knives and kitchen utensils for professionals and the general public. Based in Thiers in Auvergne and currently managed by his grandson Thierry Déglon, the company generates over 20 percent of its revenue overseas.
