Meyer Executive Director Darrin Johnston Resignation

Meyer Corporation, U.S. announces transition at the managing director level with the resignation of Managing Director Darrin Johnston, effective June 1, 2019. In the interim, Johnston is working closely with the company’s executive team, including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stanley Cheng and Group Chief Operating Officer Vincent Cheng, on transition plans which include the appointment of a new managing director after a search is concluded.

“Meyer has been a very significant part of my life, spanning 22 years,” says Johnston. “I cannot thank Stanley and this organization enough for the opportunities they have afforded me. I’m looking forward to further leveraging all of my skills during this exciting time in the housewares industry and beyond.”

Johnston was promoted to Managing Director in January 2015 from his previous post as Senior Vice President of Sales. Johnston first joined Meyer in 1997 as a Sales Account Executive. As Managing Director, Johnston’s responsibilities have included all sales, marketing, and operational departments for the U.S. and all Latin American countries. During his tenure as Managing Director, Johnston executed many successful new business initiatives, including the retail launch of Ayesha™, Meyer’s third celebrity brand in its extensive cookware and kitchen product brands portfolio; this year’s recently announced partnership with Lock & Lock, a leading food storage global brand; retail outlet stores; and expanded the company’s direct-to-consumer sales and fulfillment capabilities.
