Kuhn Rikon Tong Tools and Krinkle Knife Win 2015 Red Dot

Kuhn Rikon Tong Tools, a multi-functional tool for preparing food, and the Kuhn Rikon Krinkle Knife, a contemporary take on traditional cutlery, have both won coveted 2015 Red Dot Product Design Awards.

For 60 years, the internationally recognized Red Dot seal is awarded to products for creativity, innovation and quality. This year, the winners were chosen by an independent jury of 40 design professionals and leading industry specialists. The Tong Tools and the Krinkle Knife prevailed over nearly 5,000 other entries from 1,900 companies in 53 countries.

Each Kuhn Rikon Tong Tool set contains a fork and spoon, or a fork and turner. The Tong Tools with Turner combines a fork and turner. Use the fork as a whisk for roux, gravy or scrambled eggs, and the turner for flipping burgers, fish, fritters and potato pancakes. The tools can be hooked together to become one piece that functions as a pair of tongs.

The Tong Tools with Braising Spoon combines a fork and spoon. The fork can be used individually as a whisk or to lift food from a skillet, and the spoon for serving food. When they are hooked together to form tongs, they can serve a variety of dishes from noodles to salad.

The Kuhn Rikon Tong Tools have a suggested retail price of $14 for each two-piece set.

The Kuhn Rikon Krinkle Knife, with an ultra-sharp nonstick-coated Japanese stainless blade, can create professional crinkle cuts for fries or artistically shaped vegetable slices. It features an ergonomic handle and distinctively curved blade that can be rocked back and forth to cut and mince without lifting the knife from the cutting board.

The Kuhn Rikon Krinkle Knife comes in red or green and has a suggested retail price of $14.
