Emile Henry Goes to Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue

Kitchenware brands Emile Henry, Duralex, Mauviel and Lékué are partnering with Jack Daniel’s to help support the 31st annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tennessee, on October 25 – 26, 2019.

“This is one of our favorite foodie events,” said Tara Steffen, Vice President of Marketing for Emile Henry USA. “It’s a weekend where more than 25,000 fans come out and join competitive barbecue’s best of the best. We love American-style barbecue contests and we love to see some of these fierce competitors put our flame cookware and other products to the test.”

Famous for its world-renowned Tennessee whiskey, Lynchburg is home to the Jack Daniel Distillery, America’s first registered distillery. Each year on the fourth Saturday of October, a small town tucked in the rolling hills of southern Middle Tennessee turns into the barbecue capital of the world, attracting teams from all 50 states and around the globe.

“Since the mid-1800s, Jack Daniel’s and Emile Henry have built reputations of offering the highest quality products trusted by generations of consumers which made this partnership a natural fit,” said Debbie Christian, Event Coordinator for The Jack™. “We simply could not produce the type of event that we do without the support of our partners like Emile Henry.”

Like this event and the Jack Daniel Distillery, Emile Henry, Mauviel, Duralex and Lékué, each celebrate a unique heritage and rich history. Emile Henry’s all-natural, heirloom-quality barbecue and oven cookware is made from Burgundian clay in the French town of Marcigny. Mauviel 1830 is one of the only copper cookware manufacturers left in the world today and makes all of its products in Normandy, France. Duralex is the French manufacturer of the renowned French Picardie drinking glasses and nesting glass bowls. Lékué is a Spanish manufacturer of platinum silicone cooking tools and bakeware designed for healthy cooking.

Fast Meals are on the Menu with Lékué’s Microwave Grill

Keep grilling this fall, but bring it indoors with the new Lékué Microwave Grill. This 10-inch long grill transforms a regular microwave oven into a microwave grill. The grill is designed for cooking paninis, burgers, vegetables, chicken breasts, quesadillas and more.

The Lékué Microwave Grill features a top and a bottom microwave-safe metal plate. The microwaves from the oven cook food through the plates achieving seared, evenly cooked foods in minutes. The result is perfectly cooked foods with grill marks and caramelized flavors. Meals are ready in a fraction of the time required to grill foods on an outdoor grill or on the stovetop. A chicken breast, for instance, takes 15 minutes to cook in a hot pan on the stovetop. The same chicken breast takes just five minutes using this microwave grill.

The Lékué Microwave Grill features handles for carrying and silicone bands that hold the plates pressed against the chicken, hamburgers, steaks, sandwiches, fish or veggies. The grill fits in nearly all microwave ovens and can be stored in the microwave oven or on a shelf or in a cabinet. The microwave grill retails for $40. It is dishwasher safe. For more information, recipes and to purchase, visit Lékué at www.lekueusa.com.

Kingsford Charcoal Signs on to Support Operation BBQ Relief

A month ago, Operation BBQ Relief set out with community members, and athletes from Achilles International and the Semper Fi Fund to run, bike and hand-cycle across eight communities from Los Angeles to Tampa, Florida, aiming to raise awareness for serving military, first responders and the hungry. The group will make eight pit stops along the way to break bread and connect over core causes with as many people as possible.

Inspired by the effort – and showing faith in the power of BBQ – Kingsford Charcoal has joined the team as a sponsor of the barbecue meal spots along the tour, supplying charcoal for events that will serve more than 10,000 people in each city. This partnership marks the first between Kingsford Charcoal and Operation BBQ Relief.

“We’re excited to enter this new era of community involvement with Operation BBQ relief,” said Kyra Zeroll from Kingsford Charcoal. “Their mission is one that resonates with the Kingsford brand—to connect, inspire and serve communities throughout the year with the connective ability of barbecue—and we’re moved and energized by the impact they’re making with The Breaking Bread Tour and beyond.”

The tour ends in Tampa, Florida, coinciding with the start of the 2019 DoD Warrior Games, where the team will continue to feed adaptive athletes and their families from June 21-30. The partnership will culminate at a June 23 Military Family Appreciation  barbecue event, where Operation BBQ Relief and Kingsford Charcoal will host a special barbecue meal in celebration of and honoring the athletes.

“We are so honored to have Kingsford Charcoal fueling the grills and the making it possible for people to gather together for a meal and support our non-disaster efforts like helping the far too many in our communities and across the country who go hungry,” said Paul Peterson of Operation BBQ Relief. “Many things divide us today, which is why we believe in bringing people together by serving communities through the healing power of barbecue.”

Follow Kingsford Charcoal on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to stay up to date on the latest from Kingsford, and follow Operation BBQ Relief on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep tabs on the riders and their stops.
