LG Electronics Launches New LG Studio Line of Premium Kitchen Appliances

LG Electronics USA today announced the nationwide retail availability of the latest additions to its LG Studio premium kitchen appliance suite.

The new Nate Berkus-inspired line of LG Studio appliances includes a counter-depth refrigerator, gas and electric slide-in ranges and an over-the-range microwave, all featuring a distinctive style palette aimed to complement any high-end kitchen design.

Renowned interior designer and LG Studio Artistic Advisor Nate Berkus advised on the design of the kitchen appliances, ensuring they embody a pro-style, sophisticated design. Berkus’ influence can be felt throughout the 2015 LG Studio line-up and is exhibited in the appliances’ premium, flat door design; beautiful and functional LED lighting; pro-style metal knobs, handles and control panels; and a premium, horizontally-brushed stainless steel finish.

“I’ve always believed that every kitchen should incorporate timeless elements that will make for a beautiful, well-functioning kitchen for years to come,” said Berkus. “The carefully crafted elements of the new LG Studio line that I advised on were developed with this in mind.  From the sleek, flat-door design of the new refrigerator to the more distinctive, detailed elements and finishes of the ranges and microwave, these products are the perfect marriage of high function and high design that will deliver big for homeowners each and every day.”

Complementing Berkus’ design philosophy and evident in the new LG Studio suite of appliances  are technological advances that bring a new level of convenience and functionality to the modern, premium kitchen:

  • LG Studio Slide-in Ranges. These large-capacity pro-style slide-in ranges – available in both gas and electric configurations – feature flat-design control panels and robust, durable metal knobs. SmoothTouch™ glass controls allow the adjustment of settings with the touch of a finger. With a depth in line with any kitchen countertop, the ranges provide a streamlined, custom appearance reflective of a more pro-style, timeless feel. These units include LG’s ProBake™ Convection technology that delivers even cooking results on every rack. Inspired by professional ranges, LG moved the heating element from the bottom of the oven to the back wall to achieve optimal heating distribution and consistent browning on the top and bottom of every dish, from savory dinners to delectable desserts. The ranges also feature EasyClean®, the 10-minute, fastest oven cleaning feature on the market that offers easier, more convenient cleaning thanks to LG’s innovative oven enamel technology. The technology works in three simple steps: users simply spray water to the interior walls of the oven, start the EasyClean function to allow the oven to heat up, and after 10 quick minutes, the mess inside the wall can simply be wiped away. The simplified process is a result of LG’s innovative oven enamel technology, eliminating the need for chemicals of high heat to rid the oven of grime.
  • LG Studio Counter-Depth Refrigerator. This three-door, 23.5-cubic-foot French Door refrigerator features a sleek flat door design, water dispenser with premium stainless steel finish, LED lighting and solid, distinctive door handles – all meticulously designed to enhance any kitchen décor. The unit’s cabinet-depth styling also ensures it can stand flush with any countertop for a sleek, seamless built-in look. LG’s flagship Door-in-Door® technology on this ENERGY STAR® certified refrigerator provides better organization and easy access to consumers’ favorite items. The refrigerator also includes LG’s Slim SpacePlus® Ice system, a streamlined ice-making system inside the door that allows users to still have usable door bins and an obstruction-free top shelf, further maximizing storage space. This model also features LG’s Smart Cooling Plus technology, which is designed to maintain optimal temperature conditions within the refrigerator. LG’s highly efficient Linear Compressor and Dual Evaporators react quickly to humidity and temperature levels to maintain foods’ freshness.
  • LG Studio Over-the-Range Microwave Oven. This premium over-the-range microwave features a sleek flat door design, metal dial knob, glass touch controls, distinctive handles and a stainless steel finish. The unit is equipped with convection technology, which allows the microwave to serve as a second oven perfect for baking and roasting any favorite dish.

“The LG Studio line marries LG’s flagship technological advancements with a sophisticated, integrated design that inspires innovation in the heart of the home,” said David VanderWaal, Vice President of Marketing, LG Electronics USA.  “The new Nate-inspired appliances are crafted from the highest-quality, premium materials and incorporate thoughtful, innovative features for a kitchen homeowners are proud to own, use and show off.”

Bud Light Introduces Innovative, First-Ever Smart Home Beer Fridge

Bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the National Football League, is introducing the ultimate in smart technology innovation at the start of the season to ensure that sports fans never run out of Bud Light when watching the action. The Bud-E Fridge is a first-of-its-kind smart home beer fridge that enables consumers the ability to view real-time information from their fridge – from the number of Bud Light cans and bottles in it to when the optimal temperature is reached for them – from anywhere that they have access to a mobile device.

Bud LightDeveloped by Bud Light, Buzz Connect, and Linq IQ, the Bud-E Fridge and its accompanying smart-phone app (available on both Apple and Android devices) lets sports fans program their favorite sports teams so that the Bud-E Fridge can keep them up-to-date on when games are approaching. When games are approaching, the Bud-E Fridge immediately lets them know if their game day supply of Bud Light needs replenishing, and as fans re-stock their fridge, which has a 78 beer capacity, the Bud-E Fridge updates the stock level in real time. A countdown timer indicates when the Bud Light will reach the optimal serving temperature, which the Bud-E Fridge achieves by chilling beers below 32 degrees without freezing them.

“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to enhance the consumer’s experience and the Bud-E Fridge represents an unprecedented advance,” said Lucas Herscovici, Vice President of Connections at Anheuser-Busch. “With the Bud-E Fridge, we’ve created something that shows how we continue to push the boundaries in technology and innovation, particularly in the connected home of the future, and provide beer drinkers with new level of convenience to better enjoy Bud Light with their friends.”

The Bud-E Fridge also provides consumers with alerts of when it is running low on Bud Light, regardless of whether an upcoming game is taking place, via the smart phone app. In addition to these alerts, when the Bud-E Fridge is low on Bud Light, the mobile app integrates with beer-delivery service, Saucey, allowing consumers to order Bud Light for home delivery in San Francisco, LA, and San Diego.

Bud Light has a history of success with new technology innovations in the beer industry. This past January, Bud Light rolled out the Bud Light Button in the District of Columbia, a beer delivery app that allows users to order Bud Light with one easy tap of the finger.

The Bud-E Fridge is available for purchase by California residents only at this time at BudLight.com/efridge.

New KitchenAid Built-In French Door and Bottom Freezer Refrigerators

KitchenAid is unveiling a new line of built-in French door and bottom freezer refrigerators that combine distinctive design, new interior features and advanced technology to maximize food preservation and freshness. The new refrigerators are the first available products in an entirely new collection of KitchenAid major appliances, with others scheduled for availability beginning in April.

“Built-in refrigerators bring a seamless, high-end aesthetic to the kitchen,” said Beth Robinson, Senior Manager of Brand Experience for KitchenAid. “Our latest built-in French door and bottom freezer refrigerators are crafted with unique visual elements on the outside that hint at the superior performance inside.”

Exterior updates include Satin Textured Handles, inspired by professional grade kitchens. The sturdy bar handle shape, and easy-to-clean satin cross-hatch texture combine high-style with a secure, no-slip grip. Each end is capped with a sleek, red KitchenAid Brand Medallion.

For the first time ever, the built-in French door refrigerator line will include a 36-inch model. This provides cooks and kitchen designers with an alternate to the brand’s larger, first-of-its-kind 42-inch model, but still delivers on the design and function of the French door style, with a bottom freezer and matching side-by-side refrigerator doors.

In addition, the brand’s Preserva® Food Care System is now available in all built-in French door and bottom freezer refrigerator models. Introduced in 2012 in freestanding refrigerator models, the Preserva Food Care System is designed to control humidity, ethylene gas and odors in order to extend the storage life of refrigerated and frozen foods. Two evaporators provide separate cooling to the freezer and refrigerator compartments, keeping higher humidity air in the refrigerator to maintain fresh ingredients, and out of the freezer to minimize freezer burn. A Produce Preserver with an ethylene-absorption cartridge helps keep produce fresher, longer, while the FreshFlow™ Air Filter helps minimize odors.

Additional premium features include SatinGlide® Crispers with Soft Self-Close, offering smooth movement of crisper drawers, even when fully loaded with foods. Automatic ice makers provide filtration units to help reduce contaminants from tap water for fresh-tasting ice. LED lighting gradually increases light levels in both the refrigerator and freezer to provide a sharper view with fewer shadows. Combined with a unique platinum interior offered in select models, the lighting provides a silvery, glossy and sophisticated alternative to the traditional bright white finish.

Select models are also ENERGY STAR® qualified, and conserve energy by exceeding minimum Federal Energy Standards.

The new KitchenAid built-in French door and bottom freezer refrigerator collection are available now in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes, with suggested retail prices ranging from $7,499 – $9,699.
