SideChef and GE Appliances Make Smart Kitchen Mainstream
SideChef, the innovative culinary platform, has launched a second connected kitchen initiative with GE Appliances that now connects the SideChef app to 74 GE Wifi enabled ovens and ranges. This second phase of the partnership combines SideChef’s award-winning collection of step-by-step recipes with GE Appliances’ Wifi Connect technology to provide a unique experience for home cooks.
With SideChef’s new GE Appliances integration, recipe cook times, temperatures, and cooking mode instructions are sent directly to GE Wifi Connect ovens and ranges with the tap of a button, freeing the user to continue preparing the recipe. GE appliance owners will benefit from more than 15,000 interactive connected recipes through SideChef.
After the joint development of the Kitchen Hub, SideChef and GE Appliances set out to make kitchen connectivity even more accessible. SideChef’s signature advanced cooking guidance now automatically sends cooking instructions to GE Wifi Connect devices after completing a simple one-time syncing process. SideChef’s connectivity automatically triggers cook times, temperatures, and cooking modes while the user continues to prepare the recipe. With the completion of this integration, SideChef is planning further enhancements that go beyond the kitchen into ingredient optimization, advancing the full kitchen journey.
SideChef has released a new batch of recipes, upping its total smart recipe count to 15,000, a result of over 300 global content partners. In total, SideChef now integrates with 101 connected appliances. Deepening integrations between SideChef and GE Appliances help simplify cooking tasks and minimize human error.

Electrolux has launched new products with industry-first innovations, including the Frigidaire Gallery front-control range with Air Fry, and a fully customizable refrigerator drawer.
In a recent consumer study, nearly 83 percent of consumers stated Air Fry was a critical or important factor in their purchase decision. Frigidaire Gallery® is the first to bring a range with Air Fry to market. The new Frigidaire Gallery front control range with Air Fry means consumers can now make healthier, crisp and delicious meals using the hottest trend in cooking while eliminating the need for an expensive, bulky countertop appliance.

LG Electronics USA is expanding its smart kitchen appliance partnerships with plans to integrate Tovala – the effortless cooking solution and meal service – into 2019 LG smart ovens and ranges this year. LG smart cooking appliances will be the first in the industry to offer Tovala compatibility. By adding Tovala to LG Electronics’ robust array of smart cooking platform integrations – including Innit®, SideChef and Drop demonstrated at this week’s 2019 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show – LG is spearheading the smart kitchen revolution.
