For over 400 years, Morakniv® has manufactured high-quality stainless steel knives for craftsmen and outdoorsmen. This year, the Sweden-based company is bringing expertise from the campfire to the kitchen with the release of the Classic 1891 Series. The knives possess all of the same high-caliber qualities as Morakniv’s classic knives, forged with modern-day kitchen needs.

“These knives are literally handmade by some of the finest craftsmen in Sweden,” Says Graeme Esarey, President of Industrial Revolution, Morakniv’s U.S. and Canada distributor. “Their generations of experience have allowed Morakniv to create some outstanding and innovative knives for a new market segment. If you are a Mora fan, you owe it to yourself to try out the 1891 series. You won’t be disappointed!”

The five-piece collection features a Bread knife, a Chef’s knife, a Fillet knife, a Utility knife and a Paring knife. All five knives feature handles made of red- or black-stained Swedish birch and have an elaborate coil form for balanced ergonomics and a stable grip. The blades are made of carefully-selected Swedish steel, which is hardened and tempered with a secret process that gives each knife model the optimal combination of features for its intended use. And like all Morakniv’s, they are wickedly sharp.

Suggested retail prices: 9-inch Chef’s Knife, $149.99; 5-inch Utility Knife, $119.99; 10-inch Bread Knife, $139.99; 7-inch Fillet Knife, $139.99; 3-inch Paring Knife, $59.99; Set of three knives (Chef, Bread, Paring), $299.99.
