Record Breaking Opening Day for Dallas Total Home & Gift Market

Dallas Market Center today announced that the opening day of its Total Home & Gift Market saw record-setting increases in store attendance from across the country as well as attendance by new stores attending Dallas market for the first time.

At the close of business on opening day, total store attendance had soared by 15 percent compared with June 2014. Gains were realized across product categories as well as regions of the country, adding to the optimistic opening. New store attendance was up by more than 5 percent, and attendance by stores from California was up by nearly 15 percent while attendance from the southeastern US was up by 25 percent.

“Our exhibitors and the market center team have put in a tremendous amount of work on the road, on the phones, and over email promoting June market,” said Cindy Morris, Dallas Market Center chief operating officer. “We are thrilled that our message has resonated and that more loyal retailers and more new stores have arrived for the opening of market.”

For June Market, Dallas Market Center is holding ribbon cuttings for more than 20 new and expanding showrooms; offering hundreds of new temporary resources and lines inside permanent showrooms; created three separate venues for one-of-a-kind products from the American Made Show, International Folk Art Market | Collection, and the Vintage Round Top Experience; remerchandised the temporary exhibits on the 12th floor; expanded luxury lifestyle resources; and launched new Housewares temporary exhibits.

“There has been more marketplace activity, more new resources, and more positive expectations going into this market than in years,” said Morris. “Our hotel bookings were tracking far ahead in the weeks before the show, and it’s tremendous to see that retailers are enthusiastic about attending the Dallas show for inspiration and important new resources.”
