The Green Garmento Reusable Dry Cleaning Bag

From “Shark Tank” to store shelves: The Green Garmento creates clean closets and a clean planet. As seen on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” winner of IHA Design Defined Award and one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 100 Brilliant Companies to Watch in 2011, The Green Garmento® offers a line of innovative, eco-friendly home solutions for dry cleaning, laundry, storage and travel.

The brain child of Hollywood couple Jennie Nigrosh and Rick Siegel, The Green Garmento began with one foundational product: the all-in-one reusable dry cleaning bag. Multi-functional, attractive and affordable, the bag reduces frustrating closet clutter and lessens the estimated 300 million pounds of single-use plastic that annually enters US landfills and waterways threatening marine and wildlife.

“I was tired of standing half-naked in my closet, late for work and searching for clothing that was hidden inside plastic and bound together by twist-ties. I knew there had to be a better way,” says Nigrosh. The Green Garmento products can be found in dry cleaners, laundromats, hotels and resorts, through retailers and promotional products distributors around the world. The patented reusable bags have kept an estimated 2.5 million pounds of single-use plastic out of the ecosystem.

So what’s new at The Green Garmento? “Other than our 100 percent score card from major retail? Sorry, I had to brag,” says Nigrosh. “No more wire hangers. They are a detriment to our closets and our planet. Our new deluxe design has a handy zippered pouch which helps us give hangers back to the cleaner and not the landfills. They also work well for travel and storage.”

Created by popular demand, the company is launching The OrGREENIizer® Set, which includes an easily assembled FeatherLight EcoStand and matching Garmento bag.

“We’ve had overwhelming requests to create a matching hamper stand for our bags. It’s kind of architecture-ey,” Nigrosh says. “It’s incredibly sleek and easy to use. It took us a long time to get exactly what we wanted, but we now have a frame that takes up about as much retail space as a wine bottle, assembles in minutes and weighs about as much as an iPad.”

But wait, there’s more! The GARGANTOTE brings innovation to the home, office, garage, dorm and car. Combining the ease of a tote with the size of laundry bag and the structure of a basket, the GARGANTOTE makes laundry transport a cinch and helps keep neatly folded items in place. The fabric is lightweight, durable, breathable and washable. And of course, recyclable.

The female-owned, Los Angeles-based company has been heralded by the “TODAY” show, CBS’ “The Early Show,” The New York Times, People “StyleWatch” and more. The Green Garmento has been featured in several TV shows and movies, including the hit films “Pitch Perfect” and “The Internship.” See it at the 2015 International Home + Housewares Show
