Drip Coffee Makers – A Checklist from Capresso for a Better Brew

There are many ways to brew coffee, but the drip coffee maker continues to reign supreme as the most popular brewing method in the US. According to the National Coffee Association (NCA), 50 percent of daily coffee drinkers brewed their coffee with a drip coffee maker, significantly more than the single cup brewer, French press, pour over, and stove top methods combined.

Traditionally known for their ease of use and reliability, drip coffee makers today have advanced features that add convenience and enhance taste and aroma.

Advanced features, such as permanent filter, optimal brewing temperature, small cup setting and drip stop, come standard with Capresso drip coffee makers. Capresso offers this checklist of additional features for comparing a variety of models.

Removable water tank makes refilling quick and easy.

Special 3-5 cup setting. Coffee gets progressively stronger as a pot of drip coffee is brewed. Without this special setting, a small pot of three to five cups will not have the same full bodied flavor as a full pot.

Programmable clock/timer LED display. A drip coffee maker can be programmed to initiate brewing right before the coffee lover gets up in the morning so a fresh pot is waiting – or right before dessert.

Water purification. Charcoal water filtration removes impurities from the water that would otherwise degrade the taste. An automatic filter indicator alerts the user when the filter needs to be changed.

Permanent GoldTone filter replaces paper filters and is dishwasher safe. This saves money over time, and it avoids the environmental waste of paper filters that are used once and then discarded.

Drip stop comes in handy when someone wants a cup of coffee now. It interrupts the machine during the brewing process to pour a cup, and then continues the brewing cycle.
